People Like Us is an award-winning not-for-profit that celebrates and supports media, marketing, and communications professionals from Black, Asian, Mixed Race and minoritised ethnic backgrounds. We’re also on a mission to help foster a fairer workplace for all through equitable pay – whatever your heritage; whatever your industry. We’ve had significant successes so far and we’ve got big ambitions.

 In March 2025 we hosted a special night with People Like Us. An incredible collection of stories from talented individuals who did themselves proud. Jacaranda Books is an award-winning, diverse-owned independent publisher and bookseller.. 

Since publishing its first title in 2014, the press has released more than 70 books by a wide range of talented authors, including award-winning writers Irenosen Okojie, Fiston Mwanza Mujila, Bernice L. McFadden and Shola von Reinhold. In 2020, Jacaranda was named Small Press of the Year at the British Book Awards and launched the groundbreaking #TwentyIn2020 initiative, publishing 20 books by 20 Black British writers in a single year. The publisher also co-founded the #InclusiveIndies campaign, raising over £100,000 to support independent presses during Covid-19. With a historic partnership with Hachette UK since 2021, Jacaranda continues to expand its reach while remaining committed to publishing bold writing and amplifying diverse voices
